How Getting Passed at Rodney's Actually Works

Step 1 Get Seen Live

Be seen at a LIVE show by Kevin, Rodney's Director of New Talent. The Mob Showcase guarantees this happens.

Step 2 Get Invited to "Get Made"

Rodney's audition show — you perform for Kevin, Reggie (Club Booker), and Mark (Club Owner).

Step 3 Crush the Audition

Pass "Get Made" and you're passed at Rodney's — which means you're passed with the Comedy Mob too.

Stay for the room

Comics deserve an audience. Stay for as much of the mic as you can — when everyone does, everyone gets a better set.

Support the venue

A 1-item minimum at the bar is all we ask — it's what keeps the clubs giving us the room every week.

Test safely

Our mics are a safe space to work out new material in front of a real audience. Bomb here so you kill later.

Sep 11–19. Three winners from each prelim show move on to the semifinals.

Sat, Oct 17. The best of the prelims battle for a spot in the Finals.

Sat, Oct 24 @ 8PM. 10–12 comics. One grand prize winner.

Winners each round are chosen by audience vote plus a panel of industry judges.

Prelims run Sep 11–19, semifinals Sat Oct 17 (5 & 8PM), and the Finals are Saturday, October 24th at 8PM — every competing comic must be fully available for Finals night.

Performances are recorded and may be featured on Comedy Mob and Rodney's social channels — a set that kills becomes a clip that works for you.

How winners are picked

Each round is decided by audience vote plus a panel of industry judges. Three advance from each prelim; 10–12 comics battle in the Finals.

We run free weekly open mics at New York Comedy Club and Rodney's, produce showcases where club bookers are guaranteed to be watching, and put on independently produced shows that pair the best up-and-coming talent with names you know from Netflix, Late Night, HBO, Amazon, Comedy Central and more.

The model is simple: we support you, you support us, and we all support comedy. Mics stay free to sign up. Audiences get great shows at honest prices. Venues get packed rooms. And comics get what actually matters — reps in front of real crowds.

Comedy Mob is run by working comics with day jobs and a lot of love for this. Every lineup is hand-built, every show is independently produced, and every room is one we'd want to perform in ourselves.
